Arakawa Hanabi

The Arakawa is the biggest of several rivers that run through Tokyo. Since it is prone to flooding, the area around the river is mostly unbuilt upon, and is a big green stripe through town, with many cycle routes and sports pitches. We go running there sometimes. This is also a great place to put a bunch of people to watch fireworks.

There were a bunch of food trucks. Kind of disappointing -- should just have brought our own takeaway!

Many people wearing kimono.

The first "fireworks" were actually a drone show, which was quite cool, but does seem kind of like cheating.

Especially when the real fireworks can make pokemon shapes! Out of explosions!
